This ecotourism showcase is located along the Mombasa-Malindi highway, in the coastal town of Mombasa; and is a product of Bamburi Cement’s efforts since 1971 to convert barren landscape of disused limestone quarries into vibrant and diverse tropical ecosystem of forest, grasslands, ponds, wildlife; and an extremely attractive tourist attraction as well as a learning centre on environmental rehabilitation and conservation.
Located across the street from Bamburi Haller Park in Mombasa, this is a verdant cool forest with open grasslands and fitness trails, again transformed from a Bamburi Cement quarried barren landscape into a rate facility designed specifically for outdoor recreation.
Geocyle Kenya is the waste management arm of Bamburi Cement, and part of the global Geocycle brand owned by Holcim. Through Geocycle, Bamburi offers sustainable waste management solutions to industries and municipalities. Waste is disposed of through Bamburi Cement’s kilns through co-processing technology, a world acclaimed sustainable, environmentally friendly technology.
